Chapter 6: The Preservation Theorem¶

The other half of the result: if T holds, nothing at the E1 and E2 levels is lost — and only if T holds are they kept. The chapter on the noble truths carries the whole argument.

• With emptiness, everything stands; without it, nothing does (XXIV.14).
• The three-reading verse (XXIV.18): empty, conventional designation, middle path.
• The two truths positioned: conventional truth as the legitimacy of E1 and E2, ultimate truth as T — two layers of assertion, not two worlds.
• The answer to nihilism: the fault returns to the accuser.
• The door to Part 19 opened, not entered.
