Chapter 2: The Warrant for the Definitions

[PLANNED] This chapter has not yet been written; what follows is a skeleton. Items may be added or removed, and the order may change.

  • The three conditions of intrinsic nature redeemed from MMK 15, and their agreement with Sarvāstivāda usage.
  • The two sources of the reality criterion: the Sarvāstivāda test of surviving analysis; Saṅghabhadra's definition by generating cognition.
  • The modern control: Westerhoff's chapter on svabhāva (ontological and cognitive dimensions) against D2.
  • The conditional fallback, stated formally.
