Terminology Concordance (for All Volumes)

This concordance collects key terms that recur throughout the book and gives their Chinese, Sanskrit (Skt.), Pali, and English forms together with brief explanations. The first occurrence of a term in each chapter supplies its original transliteration; fuller meanings can be consulted here. Entries are added as the writing progresses.

Where the Sanskrit and Pali forms are identical, the Pali column reads "same." Where Buddhism and Brahmanism emphasize different senses of a word, the explanation identifies the distinction.
