Chapter 1: The Formation of the School¶

[PLANNED] This chapter has not yet been written; what follows is a skeleton. The skeleton is laid out at full-treatment scale: the brief version walks only the trunk of each item, and a later expansion thickens the same outline without restructuring.

• Two names, two aspects: yoga practice and the consciousness-only thesis; a school born in the meditation hall.
• Lineage: Maitreya, Asanga, Vasubandhu; the threshold sentence of Part 17 redeemed.
• The six-text map: Samdhinirmocana, Yogacarabhumi, Mahayanasamgraha, Twenty Verses, Thirty Verses, Cheng weishi lun; the two Chinese translation streams.
• The three turnings: the school's self-placement relative to Madhyamaka, to be audited in chapter 7.
