Chapter 1: The Founding, from Huiwen to Zhiyi¶
[PLANNED] This chapter has not yet been written; what follows is a skeleton. The skeleton is laid out at full-treatment scale: the brief version walks only the trunk of each item, and a later expansion thickens the same outline without restructuring.
- Huiwen reads the Middle Treatise and obtains the threefold contemplation; Huisi adds the Lotus; Zhiyi builds the system.
- The school's self-declared ancestry in Nagarjuna: the kinship claim to be audited in chapter 2.
- The three great works; teaching and contemplation as twin excellences; Zhanran and the later disputes shelved with signposts.
