The Act of Surrender in the Therapeutic Process(1949,原刊 Quarterly Journal of Studies on Alcohol 10: 48—58)、Surrender versus Compliance in Therapy, with Special Reference to Alcoholism(1953,同刊 14: 58—68)、The Ego Factors in Surrender in Alcoholism(1954,同刊 15: 610—621)。蒂博曾为戒酒无名会创始人之一比尔·威尔逊(Bill W.)诊治:该会档案部《Markings: Your Archives eNewsletter》第 34 卷第 3 期(2014/15 冬季号)〈Harry Tiebout, M.D.〉记其为 "the first psychiatrist to openly support A.A.",并云 "When Bill W. experienced difficulties with depression in the 1940s, he sought and received psychiatric treatment from Dr. Tiebout"。 一九五三年一篇先分出"顺从"(compliance)为投降之半,谓其"basically partial acceptance or partial surrender, and which often serves as a block to surrender";一九五四年一篇乃径指所降者为何物:"what part of the alcoholic must surrender, is obvious: it is the Ego element",并引 Rado 论"the reduction in size of the original ego"以明之。 Kenneth Pargament, The Psychology of Religion and Coping(1997),书内第 181 页表 7.2 三式并列其量表条目。 A. Wong-McDonald & R. L. Gorsuch, "Surrender to God: An Additional Coping Style?", Journal of Psychology and Theology Surrender differs from deferring in that it is not a passive waiting for God to solve all problems; rather, it is an active choice to surrender one's will to God's rule",因子分析亦"delineated Surrender as a separate factor from the other coping styles"。

「became a close friend and supporter of Bill W.」;「When Bill W. experienced difficulties with depression in the 1940s, he sought and received psychiatric treatment from Dr. Tiebout」;又记其生于 1896 年 1 月 2 日于布鲁克林,1966 年七月 Bill W. 在 A.A.

③Iannaccone([0733])首页刊记「AJS Volume 99 Number 5 (March 1994): 1180-1211」,摘要「Strictness makes organizations stronger and more attractive because it reduces free riding. It screens out members who lack commitment and stimulates participation among those who remain」,正与正文「苛刻要求筛除三心二意者,反而强化留下者的投入」合。

④Berger《A Rumor of Angels》「cognitive minority」九见,并自下定义「By a cognitive minority I mean a group of people whose view of the world differs significantly from the one generally taken for granted in their society」;《The Sacred Canopy》([0648])亦三见。⑤Rowatt 等([0364])刊记「Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion 41:2 (2002) 227–237」,摘要「In both studies, intrinsic religiousness was associated with an increase in the tendency to rate the self as more adherent to biblical commandments than others」,即正文「宗教内在性越高者,自评美德高出常人的幅度越大」;惟原文所比者是遵守圣经诫命的自评,正文作「美德」,稍泛而不误。⑥Festinger 等 1956([0728])第一章立五条件,「These five conditions specify the circumstances under which increased proselyting would be expected to follow disconfirmation」,与脚注「预言落空后信众反而强化传教」合。一处属本书引申,记此:正文谓 Berger 所论认知少数「维持信念的标准策略正是把少数处境读作『众人皆盲,我独得见』」,而 Berger 所述的维持策略是结成宗派式组织以对抗周遭(《Sacred Canopy》:「The sect … serves as the model for organizing a cognitive minority against a hostile or at least non-believing milieu」),「众人皆盲」一语是本书的转述,读作引申可,读作转引则稍过。
